Hands.

These pictures mean so much to me when I look back at them.
The hands of a doula and midwife helping mama get that first latch. Women whom have done this work before, feeding babies, learning latching.
The loving hands surrounding not just mom but baby too.
There’s so much wisdom and compassion and power that our hands hold. I’ve been able to hold so many families with these hands and the body remembers the work they have done and will continue to do.

It’s been awhile so let’s do a meet the Doula!

I’m Jessie! Mother of a sweet 4 year old boy named Nolan and a just about two month old baby girl named Susie Mae.

I’ve been a doula for 7 ish years local to Missouri. (But the doula work started long before a certification was obtained. 😉) I’ve bore witness to so many birth journey stories and watched families grow and unfold. I don’t take likely how honored I am to be invited into these sacred spaces to watch magic take place right before my eyes.

I have much a passion for holding space for not just moms but entire families.

I want parents to enter parenthood with power, education, intuition, support, community.

Sometimes in the thick of providing this care posting about it falls short on my priority list - it takes long hours and lots of energy to do this work. It is a goal of mine to start sharing some very beautiful stories of the work I do and people I support so stay tuned.

Fun fact, my first birth back after having my second baby was 5 weeks postpartum! I felt amazing and was so excited to be able to step back into the birth space after having such a beautiful and redemptive second birth myself.

It still amazes me so much how transformative birth is. It cracks you open and makes you new.

Excited to share more not only about my second birth journey but also trying to get better at sharing some of my clients birth stories and posting more. ❤️
