🫁 When Does a Cough Need Medical Attention? 🫁

A cough is often your body’s way of clearing your airways, but sometimes it can be a sign that you need medical attention.

🚨 Don’t ignore a cough if you have:
• Trouble breathing or shortness of breath
• Chest pain or pressure
• Coughing up blood
• Blue or gray lips or skin
• A high or persistent fever
• Wheezing that is new or getting worse
• A cough that is severe or rapidly worsening
• Symptoms that improve but then suddenly get worse

A cough that lingers longer than expected or keeps interfering with sleep and daily activities is also worth discussing with a healthcare provider.

Remember, coughs can have many causes—including colds, flu, COVID-19, allergies, asthma, bronchitis, and other respiratory infections. Finding the cause is an important part of knowing how to treat it.

When you’re not sure, we’re here when you need us. ❤️🩺

👀 Pink Eye: What You Need to Know! 👀

Pink eye (conjunctivitis) is common and can spread easily—especially when kids are back in school. But how do you know when it’s something you can manage at home and when it’s time to seek medical care?

Common symptoms include:
👁️ Redness or irritation
💧 Watery eyes
😣 Itching or burning
🟡 Discharge or crusting around the eye
👀 Swelling or sensitivity

Pink eye can be caused by viruses, bacteria, allergies, or other irritants, so not every case requires antibiotic treatment.

Help prevent the spread by washing your hands frequently, avoiding touching or rubbing your eyes, and not sharing towels, pillows, makeup, or eye drops.

If symptoms are severe, worsening, affecting your vision, or you’re unsure of the cause, it’s a good idea to have your eyes evaluated. 🩺

🌊 Water Safety Saves Lives 🛟

Nothing beats spending time at the pool, lake, or beach during the summer—but safety should always come first.

Keep your family safe by remembering these important water safety tips:
✅ Always supervise children closely around water.
✅ Make sure everyone wears a properly fitted life jacket when appropriate.
✅ Learn CPR—you never know when it could save a life.

Remember, drowning can happen quickly and quietly. Staying alert and prepared can make all the difference.

If you or a loved one experiences a water-related injury, heat illness, cuts, sprains, or other summer accidents, First Choice Immediate Care is here to help with convenient walk-in care—no appointment needed.

💙 Have fun. Stay safe. Make memories that last for all the right reasons!
