That dark line on a pregnant belly has a name — Linea Nigra. 🤰🏾
It’s the dark vertical line that can appear down the middle of the belly during pregnancy.
This happens because pregnancy hormones increase melanin (the pigment that gives skin its color), causing some areas of the skin to become darker.
The good news? It’s completely normal and harmless.
For many moms, the line fades gradually after childbirth, though for some, it may not disappear completely.
