Silly Goats Soap Company, started because we wanted to live healthier and bring better products that we already used to our family, to use in to our own household. We wanted fresh foods with no additives, so we started our garden and raising our own animals. Then with the animals came the goats and they give us a lot of milk so, we started making natural, skin care products that would help my psor

iasis and dry skin, Sandys' sensitive skin, and just be healthier for our daughter. Then you all tried our soaps and wanted more... and here we are now!

Definitely taking time , and as projects tend to go, taking longer than expected but we made some good progress on the milk room, the last few days. Hopefully , we will be able to finish it up in the next week or two. Really liking the way it's coming together.

Every bale means our Silly Goats will have plenty of good hay when the Kentucky winter rolls in. Happy, healthy goats give us the fresh goat milk we use in every batch of soap and lotion we make.

So I did a thing. And I know all about the controversy of shaving a double coated breed. But before you come for me, go look up where the Great Pyrenees originated.And what that climate is like.. These dogs were not designed for the temperatures that we have here in Southern Kentucky. She is a working livestock guardian. 100% an outside dog and hates being inside. She wants to be with her goats. So I bought a new pair of clippers, and Bonnie got a summer haircut. The first picture is about a quarter of the hair I took off of her.. she is so much cooler and more comfortable without all of the extra weight.

Next morning on the milk room revamp... cleaned and put mik stands in, girls gotta get milked (everyday) temporarily. They do not like change. A couple didn't want to come in or get on the stands. Won't take them long to figure it out though. Gonna pressure was walls and ceiling today to prep for spray foam tomorrow. Got a 3 day window to get this all together before it rains. Somewhere in there I have to make 600 lbs of lotion. Oh the joys of being self-sufficient and self employed! Wouldn't change a thing! 🤠
