Happy National Student Pharmacists Day!

Today we’re celebrating the future of our profession, and there’s no better way to do it than by showing you what your support makes possible.

Thank you, National Community Pharmacists Association, for another outstanding Annual Convention in Kansas City!

We were proud to see Maryland Pharmacists Association members contribute to the meeting by presenting sessions and taking part in the House of Delegates.

A special congratulations to MPhA Past President Brian Hose, with EPIC Rx, who was sworn in today as a Vice President of the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA). This well-deserved honor reflects his decades of dedication and advocacy for community pharmacy. 👏

Happy American Pharmacists Month! 🎉

Dr. Magaly Rodriguez de Bittner, APhA President and past president of MPhA, kicked off the celebration this morning at APhA's opening ceremony.

This year's theme, Caring for Our Communities, also honors America's 250th anniversary and pharmacy's role in our nation's story. All month long, we'll be celebrating the pharmacists, technicians, and student pharmacists who care for Maryland communities every day.

MPhA Foundation at Camden Yards....It was a nice breezy evening on September 9 at Camden Yards with the Orioles pulling off a Win! It was wonderful to see all the MPhA friends to connect and support the MPhA Foundation’s Fundraiser! Maryland Pharmacies Close as Drug Reimbursements Squeeze Stores
Maryland Pharmacists Association (MPhA) Executive Director Aliyah Nuri Horton contributed to a recent Spotlight on Maryland series on the challenges facing community pharmacies as low reimbursement rates continue to threaten patients' access to pharmacist-provided care. MPhA has made protecting pharmacy reimbursement a top priority, advancing policy solutions that promote fair payment and reform how pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) operate in Maryland. We will keep fighting for financially sustainable pharmacy models that expand access, ensure continuity of care, and deliver lasting impact for patients and communities.

Member Spotlight: Erin South, PharmD!

Congratulations to MPhA member Erin South, PharmD, on her new role as Section Chief of Investigational Research and Clinical Pharmacy at the NIH Clinical Center! In this position, Dr. South oversees pharmacy programs supporting approximately 1,000 active clinical trials, including first-in-human studies, directly advancing NIH's mission to improve lives through biomedical research.

Dr. South's contributions don't stop there — she also recently coauthored a JMIR Publications study examining online questions and discussions surrounding cannabis use during pregnancy, adding to the growing body of research on this important public health topic.
