In honor of , which commemorates the end of slavery in the U.S., we're reflecting on the importance of this day.

Not only does it mark a turning point in our history, it’s also a celebration of freedom and a reminder that we should build a better future for us all.

Swinging for the fences in support of our pet therapy program! ⚾🐶

Baltimore Orioles Infielder Jackson Holliday, his wife Chloe, and their dog Coconut made a special visit to MedStar Good Samaritan Hospital to announce plans for his season-long gift.

For each home run the team hits this year, Jackson will donate $500 to support therapy dog visits at our hospitals and our Child Life Program.

Jackson is known for his love of dogs, so it’s no surprise he sees the impact this program can have on our patients!

We're thankful for partners like the Hollidays and Pets on Wheels that help make programs like these possible.

“It is weird to work at MedStar Union Memorial Hospital now because it was always my second home.”

Alexandra Chambers didn’t always know she would follow her dad, Brad Chambers’, footsteps into a career in health care. She does know he not-so-secretly hoped she would. Brad serves as our senior vice president and chief operating officer for the Baltimore region.

Growing up, Alexandra attended hospital functions with her family and always admired how her dad interacted with the staff. Now, she’s in her third year working as a registered nurse at that very same hospital.

This Father’s Day, Alexandra isn't just thankful for the path her dad forged for her; she's also grateful that he let her learn and grow on her own.

We're of the legacies of care being passed down through the generations. Join us in the comments as we celebrate the impact Brad and other fathers have made by inspiring the next generation of caregivers. ❤️

Wishing those who observe a humble tribute to the holy martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Arjan Dev.

Strong dads, strong hearts.💙

We’re celebrating the fathers, grandfathers, mentors, and role models who show up with support and heart every day.

One of the best ways to keep doing what you love for the people you love is to prioritize your heart health. This Father’s Day and Men’s Health Month is a reminder to schedule screenings, know your numbers, and take care of the heart that keeps you going.
