The Calming Ground

This is our season with the elderberries - hands stained purple, colander overflowing. Jam will come later. For now, just the harvesting, the slowing down, the bounty. This land is my Calming Ground.

The same buck moon that danced across the ocean waves while I was there a week ago is now in another phase rising over the fields at my home in Ohio.

Sometimes when change and uncertainty is all around us, nature can offer so many reminders that we all move through passages, phases, and seasons of life on this earth.

What I notice often helps me find steadiness in times of greater uncertainty, is to take a moment to free myself from “needing to resolve this” and simply pause, breathe, and look up.

The same sky is holding all of us.
