The secret to a successful interview over Zoom? Treat it exactly how you would an in-person interview.

💡 Make sure you call from a professional environment. That means no pajamas and a professional background.

💡 Prepare, prepare, prepare. Research the company and get ready to ask thoughtful questions.

💡 Be ready to talk about your long-term goals. What does success look like to you?

For NPs and PAs starting their own practice, choosing a low-cost collaboration arrangement may seem like a smart financial decision. The reality is that the most successful collaboration arrangements are built around meaningful professional relationships, not price.

Providers should assess if a low price in a collaborating physician arrangement is signaling what's missing, including:

- Physician availability
- Physician vetting
- Regulatory support
- Malpractice coverage support

Start your practice on the right foot by asking these questions before choosing a collaborating physician. ➡️

Joining community Facebook Groups is a great way to connect with neighbors and potential patients. By answering questions, sharing resources, and tapping into community, NPs and PAs can help promote their practice without spending a dime.

Newly graduated nurse practitioners may be wondering what their options are for employment. Many have opted to build and own their own practice — one of the most rewarding decisions an NP can make.

These are frequently asked questions we hear from NPs looking to build their own practice:

➡️ Can a nurse practitioner own their own practice?
➡️ What type of practice should a nurse practitioner start?
➡️ What steps does a nurse practitioner need to take to start their business?

New NP and PA grads: Thinking of trading in your grad cap for your own practice? Here's where to start when planning your business. 👇

1. Define the clinical model. Start by asking: What services are most needed in my community? What gaps aren't being met by existing providers? How can my personal experience fill in those gaps?

2. Market research & competitive analysis. How many practices are in my area? What's their ownership structure? What are their payer relationships, and what do their referral networks look like?

3. Business plan development. This is your chance to build an operational roadmap for your business. Ask yourself: What will my service lines look like? What's my staffing model? What is my financial forecast for the next few years?
