Grief is weird.

You can laugh at a memory in the morning, cry in the cereal aisle in the afternoon, forget why you walked into a room, and then feel guilty because you had a really good day. Sometimes all that in about 30 seconds.

None of that means you're nuts. I promise.

If your grief feels all over the place, you might just be grieving like a human.

When someone we love is dying, our instinct is to fix, to find the perfect words, to make it better. But sometimes the most meaningful thing we can offer isn't a solution at all.

Holding space means sitting in the silence, listening without redirecting, and letting the hard feelings exist. It gives a dying person permission to be honest instead of performing strength for everyone else.

No special training required, just presence, patience, and a willingness to stay. 🤍
