It was such an honor to travel to Washington DC to share our stories during the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) Advocacy Day on the Hill.

Together with an amazing team of clinicians, scientists, and researchers from Ohio, we discussed the following topics & asks:

•Reduce prior authorization & Step Therapy burdens (this was our big talking point!)
•Protect and increase NIH research funding
•Strengthen Medicare physician reimbursement

All together, with more than 100 clinicians, researchers and scientists & 20ish patient advocates, we held 100+ meetings across 26 states.

We just returned home from a magical experience - the HEAL 2026 Conference put on by National Alliance of Wound Care & Ostomy® (NAWCO®)

We were honored to be the Conference Ambassadors and enjoyed meeting so many wonderful wound and ostomy nurses. Joe and I especially enjoyed our Pouch on the Couch sessions where we had lively, interactive discussions about all things .

HEAL (Hands-on, Education,
Advancement, Leadership) is NAWCO’s annual national conference dedicated to advancing wound care and ostomy specialties through evidence-based education, hands-on learning, innovation, leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The conference brings together healthcare professionals from across the country to learn from nationally recognized experts, experience emerging technologies, and build professional connections that improve patient care.
