We (Danielle and Joe) have travelled separate but similar paths that lead us to becoming permanent ileostomates. We connected via a FaceBook ostomy support group and then connected in person when Danielle relocated and we ended up attending the same local support group. After connecting, we discovered that we have a similar outlook on life in general and on our lives as ostomates. We both enjoy hu

It’s WOCN Week! And we would like to recognize all of the wound, ostomy and continence nurses out there, for the true rock stars that they are!

As an ostomate of almost 19 years, I can confidently say that I wouldn’t be out here living my best life if it weren’t for the care and guidance of my WOCNs.

This is harsh, but true. We can only politely listen to unsolicited medical advice for so long... hoping that the person means well.
