Today, we honor the hands behind the confidence, the chairs that hold our stories, and the stylists who show up for us!

It’s Hairstylist Appreciation Day, and we’re celebrating more than beauty. We’re celebrating care, creativity, and community. Because being a hairstylist is more than a service. It's a calling rooted in trust, culture, and connection.

A little history: Beauty shops and salons have long been safe spaces in our communities, especially throughout the 20th century. Black salons became hubs for entrepreneurship, activism, and conversation, shaping both culture and community from the inside out.
