TODAY we CELEBRATE our Family Pharmacy Pharm Techs! Pharmacy Technicians work in a variety of medical team settings, including retail stores, hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities.
💊 Filling prescriptions: Collect information from patients or doctors, measure and package medications, and label prescriptions
💊Managing inventory: Track inventory, identify shortages, and repackage bulk medications
💊Processing insurance: Process insurance claims and prior authorizations, and contact insurance providers to resolve coverage issues
💊Customer service: Answer customer questions, provide empathetic service, and arrange for customers to speak with pharmacists
💊Administrative tasks: Enter patient information into a computer system, maintain patient medication profiles, and process payment for prescriptions
💊Preparing compounded medications: Use sterile and non-sterile processes to prepare compounded medications
💊Assisting with basic medical procedures: Depending on their state, pharmacy technicians may assist with basic medical procedures like administering vaccines
