Healthy Communities Making the healthy choice the easy choice in Bartholomew and Jennings Counties in Indiana.

The Healthy Communities Initiative of Columbus Regional Health focuses on bringing community members together to address the major health needs of the community, with the aim of making our region a healthier and safer place to live. We work together with healthcare, social service organizations, schools, businesses, local government, churches and others to work on projects to improve community hea

lth. Every three years, we conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment – a community health status survey that helps us determine where to focus our efforts to improve community health. We then work on the main priorities identified in this assessment in collaboration with and with support from the Healthy Communities Council and our Action Teams. Our Action Teams work on infant mortality prevention, breastfeeding, mental health, tobacco cessation, physical activity, nutrition, and more. We aim to make changes to our systems and structures to make it easier to make the healthy choice.

🏈🎃 Get ready for an evening where fall fun, sports and a little Halloween magic collide!

Join the Columbus Regional Health Foundation for the inaugural Fall Ball & BOO on Friday, October 23, from 6–10 p.m. at the NexusPark Circle K Fieldhouse. This family-friendly celebration will cap off the Foundation’s 75th anniversary with:

🎨 Face painting and caricatures

🎈 Balloons
🤫 Silent auction

We had a great weekend of community events, with Child Safety Day on Saturday and Love Chapel's Community Fair on Sunday! Thanks to everyone who came over to chat about health with us!

We enjoyed an afternoon of food, fun, fellowship, and community connection at Love Chapel - Ecumenical Assembly of Bartholomew County Churches's Community Fair over the weekend!

Julie Orben represented Mental Health Matters, sharing a table with Dr. Amy Hale who represented Be SMART for Kids. It was a great day to talk about mental health (and safe storage of guns)!
