The Alzheimer's Association® is deeply committed to the safety of everyone working and participating in Walk to End Alzheimer's®. Due to the incoming Hurricane, Walk to End Alzheimer's – Columbus, GA has been postponed and rescheduled for Saturday, November 14.

Singo Bingo Fun at Thrive at Green Island

Our friends from Rock Island Ridges at Riverchase brought one more fun-filled day to our residents with Singo Bingo!

Everyone went above and beyond to make sure a wonderful time was had by all. Some decided that singing and moving along to the music was the real bingo win, while others were determined to be the ones holding the winning card!

But we all agreed—the laughter filling the room was the true win!

A heartfelt thank you to Shannon with Rock Island Ridges at Riverchase for orchestrating another fun and engaging afternoon, and to everyone who joined us and helped make it so special.

September’s birthday party was a joyful celebration!

Mr. Benny brought music and created wonderful balloon characters for everyone to enjoy. One of our volunteers even joined in and sang along with us!

Thank you both for sharing your joy and helping make special memories with our Thrive at Green Island family.

We are grateful for the laughter, music, and meaningful moments that bring us all together!

A Five-Star Taste Test!

Our very own Chef Victor Wyatt recently hosted a special taste-testing experience, and the verdict was a resounding five-star thumbs up for a delicious new dish coming soon to our menu!

Thank you, Chef Victor, for finding creative and engaging ways to involve our residents and, most importantly, for valuing their voices and input.

A special thank you to our wonderful panel of taste testers, our Thrive at Green Island residents and one of our dear Columbus State University volunteers, for sharing their opinions and enthusiasm!

Good food, meaningful connections, and a little culinary fun make for a wonderful day at Thrive at Green Island!

We are already looking forward to our next opportunity to sample a new dish delicious!

We love when Wendy H. and Bella Rose come to visit!
Their visits bring smiles, comfort, and so much joy to our residents.

There is something truly special about witnessing the beautiful connection between Pet Therapy and Occupational Therapy. The emotional support, meaningful interactions, and heartwarming moments shared are a wonderful reminder of how powerful these connections can be.

One Last Encore from Thirsty Thursday!

We simply couldn’t let all this joy go by without sharing one more glimpse of our wonderful afternoon!

From dancing and singing into the microphone to the laughter and smiles shared throughout the room, our residents reminded us that the joy of music knows no age and that some of life’s sweetest moments are found when we come together.

A special thank you once again to Mark Blaxton for sharing his musical gifts, our sweet volunteer Kennedy for joining in the fun, and our incredible Thrive Team Members and Shannon with Stout Healthcare for making every moment meaningful.

Color Connection at Thrive at Green Island!

What a wonderful day of color, laughter, and meaningful connection!

Our friends from Rock Island Ridges at Riverchase hosted an amazing Color Connection Day with our residents, and it truly brought the meaning of connection to life.

Our residents enjoyed moving from table to table, participating in colorful, engaging games that encouraged creativity, stimulation, and plenty of smiles. But the most beautiful part of the day wasn’t simply the games themselves—it was the genuine connections being made along the way.

Seeing the Rock Island Ridges at Riverchase team, our Thrive team, Stout Healthcare, family members, and residents come together in such a joyful and meaningful way was truly inspiring. These are the moments that remind us how special it is to share our time, talents, and hearts with one another.

Bingo, Donuts & Sweet Friends!

A heartfelt thank-you to our sweet friends at Golden Donut for hosting another fun-filled game of Bingo with our residents—and, of course, delicious donuts!

It was such a joy to see our residents actively participate, cheer each other on, laugh, and enjoy every moment.
Their smiles and excitement made the afternoon extra special!
