EXCITING UPDATE AND NEW SCHEDULING STANDARDS…

After 6 months of working behind the chair, training and education at Moss Hair Co.,

I’m being promoted!

This means my pricing and service menu will be restructuring October 1.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING CHANGES WHEN SCHEDULING YOUR NEXT APPOINTMENT

WOMEN’S HAIRCUT price will increase to $85. Includes shampoo, haircut, blow dry and style.

WOMEN’S DRY CUTS are now available to schedule in a shorter time slot. Includes blow dry to smooth, haircut and style. **Hair must be clean, dry, and smoothed out or in its natural state upon arrival** Cost $65

A NEW color menu will also be released with new services, timing and updated pricing to reflect the high quality of the Moss Hair Co. standard.

I am no longer accepting appointments for children under the age of 12 and men. I am proud to refer all male clients to Elliot Thompson at Holy Moses in German Village for an elevated barbering experience!

I will now be requiring a credit card on file to schedule and hold an appointment. If an appointment is cancelled within 48 hours of the service time, 50% of the service will be charged. If an appointment is
cancelled or no-showed SAME DAY,
100% of the appointment will be charged.

We are back in business!

FIRST:
It’s been almost a week since re-opening and I am thrilled with the response from all of you in regards to the new safety protocols I have in place. I’m also BLOWN AWAY by your support and excitement coming back into the studio! I’ve been giddy all week getting back into the groove of being behind the chair. THANK YOU!!

SECOND:
If you are on the waitlist, you have most likely heard from me by now.
If you haven’t been scheduled yet, I’m working on it as fast as I can. But feel free to reach out via text with your availability.

As you probably have heard, Governor DeWine has given salons an open date of next Friday, May 15! While this is GREAT news, there is a lot of work I need to do to get up and running again in this next week.

I turned off my online booking and will leave it off until I have rescheduled all missed appointments. If you have an appointment on the book, please continue to leave it there so that I have a list to refer to when rescheduling you. I will reach out to you to get you on the schedule if you aren’t already on. I will then reach out to my regular clients and offer them an appointment, only after that will I open my online booking back up. Since I will only be servicing one client at a time for a while, I suggest pre-booking your next appointment during your visit to the salon.

I will continue to communicate with you the plans our community has developed to help keep everyone safe prior to and during your appointment.

Here is what I am planning on doing for you. (Many of these practices have always been part of my
daily procedures):

* I will take my temperature prior to coming to the salon, and will not come in if I am feeling ill, or have a fever of 100.4 or above.

* I will wash my hands often and after each client.

* I will clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces after each client. This includes my chair, my point of sale system, studio door handles, sinks, shears, tools, etc.

* I will have 1 cape per client, wash capes daily, and in general, no sharing of items touched by clients.

* I will help wipe down common area surfaces such as entry door handles in the building.

* I will only serve one client at a time and leave myself time to clean in between each client.

* I will keep my door shut during your service.

* No person to person contact, i.e. hugging, handshakes, etc., beyond what is required to provide your service.

* Studio Elements will continue to send in cleaners on a regular basis for the common areas.

Here is what you can do to help me keep my studio safe:

* Plan to take your temperature prior to coming to the salon. Do not come to the salon if you are feeling ill, or have a fever of 100.4 or above.

* Wear a mask while in the salon. I recommend a disposable one that you won't be upset if hair/shampoo/color/etc. gets on it.

* Please reschedule if you are experiencing any illness or elevated fever.

* Please text me when you arrive for your appointment and wait in your car until I ask for you to come in.

* Aside from clients who no-show appointments, my cancellation policy has been suspended. Please just call/text to cancel your appointment if necessary. This will be a high demand and high stress time for me, having unknown gaps in my day will derail my schedule, please contact me if you are unable to come!

To My Beloved Hair Community...

First: I want to give a GIGANTIC THANK YOU for all of your support this past month as I navigate the shut down of my business and being unable to work. It took me longer to process being unemployed and a single, newly-homeschooling mom than I thought it would which is why I’ve been quiet. The texts and emails and Venmos and gift card purchases have literally carried me through this and I’m eternally grateful!

Second: Governor DeWine has shared that a slow opening of business will tentatively start May 1. While I don’t know how this will affect my industry directly right away, I am going to start preparations for re-opening in the next 2-4 weeks. I am doing a deep cleaning and sanitizing of my space to ensure that I am compliant with the standards that we have been asked to follow. I take this extremely seriously and want to assure you that my space will be a safe space.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU...

I have had quite a few of you reach out to me and ask to be scheduled. I am so thrilled you’re excited to get in right away, however, my first priority is going to be scheduling everyone who had to reschedule their appointments in March and April.

ONCE I HAVE A START DATE, I will reach out to every one of you personally to get you on the schedule. As of now, I will not be scheduling anyone, as it is going to just make more work for me to cancel and reschedule AGAIN if the quarantine lasts longer than anticipated.

This is going to be a lot of work for me so please be patient with me!! I promise I’ll get to you.

For the time being, I am leaving my online booking link OPEN, only because it is the only way to access gift card purchases. However, I’m going to ask you to hold off on scheduling so I can follow my wait list fairly.

..the State of Ohio has mandated the closing of all salons until further notice. While this doesn’t come as a complete shock to me at this point, the uncertainty of how long this closing will be is hard to accept.

First, I want to thank each and every one of you who have reached out to me, checked in on me, and asked how to help me as I adjust to this temporary new life. I’m getting a lot of messages and texts asking how best to support me so I want to update you guys on how you can help me, which will also help you!

With the rise of concern over COVID-19, I want to reach out and assure you that extra precautions are being taken to clean and sanitize the studio space after each and every client is worked on in my chair. At this time, I am committed to fulfilling all appointments on my schedule but am also aware that some of you may feel more comfortable rescheduling your appointments for a later date. I will honor a no-charge for cancellations at this time until further notice—your health and safety is of upmost importance to me!

Many years ago--I was probably 19 or 20--I was out at Otani for karaoke (miss that place!) with a group of friends. I was a new stylist, maybe I was even still an apprentice, at my first salon. I remember washing my hands in the restroom when an older woman complimented my hair color. (Looking back, she was probably only in her mid-thirties but that seemed sooooo old to me then.)

I said,"Thanks! I'm actually a hair stylist!" She replied enthusiastically,"OH ME TOO! I have been doing hair for 15 years and it is the greatest job. I worked really hard to build up a strong client base and now I only work 3 days a week so I can be home with my family more! WORK HARD and you will reap that benefit in the future!"

I left the bathroom that night and went back to my friends feeling encouraged and excited and through the years, I never forgot her words.

So this Saturday morning, as I lay in bed snuggling Fiona and drinking coffee, looking over my year-end numbers and reflecting on all the support I have received in my business this past year, I am SO GRATEFUL.

2017 is my 15 year anniversary in this business. I work 3 (very long and intense) days a week and I am more financially successful than I have ever been.

THANK YOU TO EVERYONE---clients, family and friends---who support me by valuing my work, allow me space to learn and make mistakes, watch Fiona so I can fit more people into my day, and share their hearts with me in my studio. I couldn't do this without any of you!

Happy New Year!
We’ve got some news!

In an effort to better balance my work and family life and to better accommodate my clients, I have decided to switch my Saturday hours to Fridays from 12-close as of the first of February.

I will contact you individually if your appointments have already been scheduled for a Saturday and give you the option of moving to a Friday time or keeping them as is during the transition.

I'm so thankful for your continued support of my business and am hopeful that this transition will benefit us all!
