Dr. Evan Russell, cardiologist with Southern Indiana Heart & Vascular, was recently featured on the WISH-TV Health Spotlight segment.

When it comes to receiving care, Pat and Pam make the short drive from Hope to Columbus and choose the Breast Health Center to receive their annual mammograms. A few years ago the sisters met Nisha, mammography technologist in the Breast Health Center, who happens to also have a set of twins, a son and a daughter. Through their twin stories, Pat and Pam share their twin bond and ask for Nisha each year when it is time for their mammograms.

The sisters finish each other's thoughts and together they mentioned, ““We appreciate the fast imaging results. We can each go into our MyChart account right after our test and see what the results are quickly, giving us peace of mind.”

September is Sepsis Awareness Month

Our Emergency Department staff takes sepsis seriously. We caught some of our staff earlier this month being Sepsis Aware!!

♥ One of our ED teams huddle before shift to discuss sepsis awareness and detection. Thank you Jessica, Shayne, Jessica, Quentanya, Joyce, and Kyla! Our organization recently held a 'Wipe Out Sepsis' internal supply drive to assist our community in an effort to support health hygiene and reduce infection risk.
♥ Logan monitors for sepsis and patient risk during nurse triage.
♥ Jessica, from the ED sepsis task force, and John, from the EMS team, work together to conduct sepsis improvement projects within the ED unit and on ambulances.
♥ Lauren is grabbing a blood culture pack. These pre-made packs allow for faster blood draws so that antibiotics can be given more quickly should the patient test positive for sepsis. We'd also like to recognize our Lab department and staff for their important role in efficiently testing blood samples for sepsis!!

It truly takes a team to identify and treat sepsis.
