This May, we’re proud to celebrate two things close to our hearts: Nurse Appreciation Week and Mental Health Awareness Month.

Our LPNs, RNs, and NPs do more than care for physical health — they support the emotional well-being of every child and family who walks through our doors. Whether it’s a comforting presence, a listening ear, or a reassuring voice, their compassion goes beyond the exam room.

Today, we’re highlighting our amazing team rocking their mental health awareness gear — because they know that every part of a child matters.

A little late… but full of gratitude!

Lab Tech Appreciation Week just passed us by, but it’s never too late to recognize someone as special as Tammy!

She keeps things running behind the scenes—ensuring reliable and accurate lab results to help us provide exceptional care. She’s also the first to help a coworker, lend a hand when things get busy, and offer a smile to every patient.

We’re lucky to have her on our team, and our patients are even luckier to be in her care!

During the month of April, staff of BMG-Columbus Children’s Clinic helped bring awareness to autism and wrapped up Autism Awareness month by participating in the Different Not Less Fun Day hosted by The Essle Center at YMCA!

One of our phenomenal patients is making headlines today. Check out the work being done to improve healthcare outcomes for people living with rare diseases in Mississippi. We are so proud of you Emmalyn (and your mom)! Keep going sweet girl!

Emmalyn Hudson, a Children’s of Mississippi patient with a rare genetic condition, and her family were among advocates for legislation creating the Mississippi Rare Diseases Advisory Council at UMMC.
