Strokes For Life Art, LLC was honored to present this artwork to JC on behalf of Cynthia Riley Moore when someone makes it through something ; gratefulness begins to manifest itself over and over. Small gestures become the biggest impacts on the soul. When the art was presented ; it's a moment that couldnt be captured in a photo. Gratefulness and gratitude. I remember you telling us "I let her know everyday how much I appreciate her and this is just another example of why I love cynthia." These moments are powerful. Art is powerful. Capturing who you are is powerful.
Thank you Cynthia for entrusting me for this project. JC ; as my wife Lynette Thomas said to you "God is strategic in giving you different examples to let you know he's right here with you.

Strokes For Life Art, LLC I had the honor and privilege to do a memorial tribute piece for Bennita Web in honor of her father whom recently passed. Losing a loved one is hard especially during holidays. Its an immediate "first holiday without" A daughter losing her father is even tougher. For many; their father is their hero and superman. It's still tough. There will be good days and bad days; but looking up at the painting as it hangs on your wall will bring you so.e comfort. Thank you bennita for entrusting me with this endeavor. Continue to keep the Web family in your prayers.

Strokes For Life Art, LLC was blessed to present the memorial tribute piece to Marlon McElroy in honor of his father whom passed away (Mr. Ron McElroy ). Mr Ron was a soulful crooner in the 60s group "The Premiers" (King Records). To know that his father was in his musical gift; it's not a surprise that seed was passed down to Dj Marly McFly. Music never dies. The individual may no longer be here ; but the spirit of the boogie lives on. To the McElroy family; we're praying for you all.
P.s. we can't wait to hear the Dj Marlon remix of The Premiers his songs. https://youtu.be/pQtNOjiBtDE

First Step Recovery Center Today in Art Therapy the clients did a project in which they painted a contemporary abstract painting with a message over top of it. It was a collective project. We discussed what did "restore" mean to them in regards to their recovery. With what they all came up with ; They decided to use "I'm here to restore my peace. I'm here to change my life" to put on the painting. They were very proud of their works.
Once completed they took the finished work down to one of the counselors office; told them about their projected and left the work with them for 1 week (after week is up) its moved to another counselors office.

First Step Recovery Center Today was a great day for art therapy. They walked in to a table full of blank canvases. They're all in there starting over and starting something new in their walk of sobriety. They worked together collectively in an assembly line approach adding a mixed medium (markers, crayons, color pencils, chalk pastels and paint). They did it for 45 minutes non stop (Bach classical music provided the soundtrack) Afterwards they enjoyed what they accomplished! I told them "you remember whom you were with and where you were during your drug using days. But today you'll remember whom you were with and where you were at today when you did this art collective project.

Strokes For Life Art, LLC was blessed to present this artwork to Richard D. Jamison Jr. & family in honor & memoriam of their father, husband, brother, friend, Carlos (Papi) Miguel Velez Montalvo. Carlos loved life and lived it to its fullest. He loved people and had a huge impact on the many lives he touched. Carlos was a great musician and would have you up dancing. I got to sit and listen to his loving wife tell beautiful stories about him and how much they loved him. Enjoyed some old photos of him.. Through tears, smiles, & laughs , I know Mr. Carlos is smiling down on his family. Continue to lift the family up in prayer. Thanks Rich for entrusting me with this endeavor.

This certification is more than just a piece of paper. Its a culmination & testimony that began years ago. I was that broken crayon that found a way to still color through the seasons. The arts became a healing tool for me and ultimately led me to using the art(s)as healing tool for others through the arts. Strokes For Life Art Strokes For Life Art, LLC & First Step Recovery is just one of those entities. Art is theraputic is so many ways. I along with many others are living proof of that. Grateful for this and grateful for what is YET to come. Pursuing the greater. Man my wife & cheerleader Lynette Thomas is always encouraging me to learn more and go after more. "Why stop there" is what she always says. Thanks for the push. To the village of therapist, counselors, etc. Thanks for listening to my ideas and for giving me feedback.

A view of the setup of my Theraputic Arts Class at First Step Recovery. I get excited about using art as a therapeutic healing and teaching tool to those battling active addictions. They learn from me as much as I learn from them. I get excited to hear about how many days clean they've been, how they're about to graduate out the program, etc, etc. One day at a time. One hour at a time. One minute at a time. I'm so grateful for this opportunity!
