Have you heard of Blue Zones, where residents live actively past the age of 100? These special communities have a few things in common. Residents are part of an active, supportive social circle, and each member has an individual felt purpose. They eat smaller portions and mostly plant-based foods. Exercise is woven into everyday activities, such as gardening, being in nature, and connecting with the community.
Do you know you don’t have to live in a Blue Zone to live by these principles? You can create your own version of these practices in your home and community.
Yoga can provide a wonderful social and support system. Many of my classes are just that—a place to come, breathe, move your body, and socialize with friends. During my retreats, people often share with me how connected they feel to the group, even after just one day.
Humans thrive when we choose to nourish our mind, body, and soul. 💚
