I’m coming home from this weekend’s Misty Meadows Women's Herbal Conference with so much gratitude, love, renewed energy, and new knowledge.

So many incredible women shared their wisdom and taught throughout the weekend, and I found myself taking in so much. Learning more about plants and the energy they carry, new ways of working with aromatherapy and incorporating it into tuning fork sessions, and so much more that I’m still processing and excited to explore.

But what I brought home from this weekend went far beyond what I learned in the classes.

There are some experiences you don’t fully understand the impact of until you’re on the other side of them, and I can literally feel the space this weekend created within my body and mind.

I slowed down. I reconnected with nature. I sang by the fire, drummed, learned, laughed, breathed deeply, held space in our reiki tent, and allowed myself to be present.

And somewhere in all of that, I found community.

I’ve heard the words, “You’ll find your tribe,” many times. This weekend, I finally understood what that can feel like. Every interaction seemed meaningful in its own way, and I came home with beautiful new friendships, including people who have been living practically right around the corner from me all along.

We found each other. ❤️

One of the most meaningful parts of the weekend was choosing to birth my own drum. Working with Matooka Moonbear through that process and getting to know her was such a gift. This drum now carries the energy, intention, connection, and memories of a weekend that gave me far more than I knew I needed.

There was something about being surrounded by the trees, the fire, the rhythm of the drums, the full moon, and a community of people gathered together that breathed life back into me.

I am incredibly grateful for all the paths, people, and little nudges that led me here. 🌿🔥🌕🪘

Tonight, the Rhythm & Roots Drum Circle came together.

I’ve been feeling a little off lately. Drained, if I’m being truthful. But I always show up for this circle knowing that somehow, I receive exactly what I need in the moment.

As I looked around the room tonight at the men and women who had each arrived for their own reasons, I realized mine was simple. I needed to fill my own cup.

I had the opportunity to play the mother drum with Valarie tonight, something I haven’t done in a while, and it brought me such a feeling of joy and accomplishment. To drum and sing without fear or judgment and simply allow myself to let go felt incredibly freeing, especially tonight.

There is something so special about the way Valarie encourages me. She has a way of bringing even more energy, strength, and self-empowerment out of me, reminding me to trust myself, use my voice, and just allow it to come through.

There is something that happens when I walk onto the farm and into this room. I become present. I’m not thinking about what happened yesterday or what needs to happen tomorrow.

I am here. In the now.

And tonight, I will leave you with these lyrics.

I am finding my way,
I am finding my way,
I am finding my way back to now.

Sometimes we show up thinking we are there to give, only to realize we came to receive, too.

Perhaps you will join us next month. ❤️

There are experiences that teach you something new… and then there are experiences that help you remember something that has always been within you.

Last night I had the honor of participating in The Tambourine Path™ with Barbara Gail, a devoted student and legacy carrier of Layne Redmond’s teachings.

As I continue saying yes to the people, places, and experiences I feel called toward, I find myself remembering more and more of who I am. Each teacher, each circle, and each offering brings me a little closer to something that has always been within me.

Surrounded by an incredible circle of women, I learned that the tambourine is so much more than an instrument. Learning to play it with intention, hearing its history, and witnessing each woman’s offering inspired by the elements gave me a deeper appreciation for the traditions, teachings, and lineage that surround it.

My heart is full of gratitude for Barbara Gail for sharing her wisdom with such authenticity and generosity, and for carrying forward the beautiful teachings of Layne Redmond. It was a true joy to finally meet you in person.

I’m also deeply grateful to every woman who shared the circle. Thank you for your presence, your openness, and the unique gifts each of you brought. It was an honor to share this experience with you.

Sometimes we don’t discover who we are.

We remember.

I had the opportunity to attend the Mt. Kearsarge Pow Wow today, and listening to the incredible drumming, joining in the dancing, and sharing in the experience reminded me of what I get to look forward to this week.
There’s something truly special about gathering together in circle.
