Horse owners and clients of mine….
There are some upcoming discussions that could impact the care options available for your horses.
On April 21, 2026, the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners will be holding a public meeting where potential rule changes are expected to be reviewed. These changes may restrict certain holistic and alternative therapies, requiring them to be performed only under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian.
If approved, this could affect services like osteopathy, chiropractic work, acupuncture, PEMF, homeopathy, and other bodywork practices—possibly categorizing them as veterinary procedures when performed without a license.
This is actually devastating for people who have spent their time and money educating themselves and building a business to help horses. Approving this would crush professionals in this industry. I only know one veterinarian who practices chiropractic and one who offers PEMF. These services are not often offered by vets which means that the access to these services will be limited.

This is an important time to stay informed and involved if these services are part of your horse’s care routine.
