BLS vs ACLS: What’s the Difference? ❤️

Both BLS and ACLS teach lifesaving skills, but they are designed for different levels of emergency care.

BLS – Basic Life Support
BLS focuses on the immediate response to cardiac arrest and other life-threatening emergencies.

It includes:
• High-quality CPR
• Using an AED
• Managing choking
• Team-based resuscitation skills

ACLS – Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
ACLS builds on BLS skills and is designed mainly for healthcare professionals managing serious cardiovascular emergencies.

It includes:
• Advanced cardiac-arrest management
• Recognizing dangerous heart rhythms
• Airway management
• Emergency medications
• Effective resuscitation-team communication

Simple difference:
BLS teaches the foundation of lifesaving care, while ACLS prepares healthcare professionals for more advanced cardiac emergencies.

At Pulse-Keepers CPR, professional training helps you build the skills and confidence needed when every second counts.

Did you know? Knowing what to do during a child’s seizure can help protect them from injury. 💙

Remember these important steps:

• Stay calm and time the seizure
• Move hard or sharp objects away
• Place something soft under their head
• Do not hold them down
• Never put anything in their mouth
• Keep them safely on their side when appropriate
• Get emergency help if the seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes, they have trouble breathing, are injured, or another seizure begins

Being prepared can make a big difference during an emergency.

At Pulse-Keepers CPR, we help people build practical life-saving skills and confidence.

Severe dehydration can become an emergency quickly.
Watch for warning signs such as:
Extreme thirst or very dry mouth
Dizziness or fainting
Confusion or unusual weakness
Very little or no urine
Rapid heartbeat or breathing
Inability to keep fluids down
What to do:
Move the person to a cool, safe place.
If they are awake and able to swallow, give small frequent sips of water or an oral rehydration solution.
Avoid forcing large amounts of fluid at once.
If the person is confused, fainting, unable to drink, or getting worse, seek emergency medical help immediately.
💡 Safety tip: Severe dehydration may need IV fluids and medical treatment.
At Pulse-Keepers CPR, we teach practical emergency-response skills to help you know what to do when every second counts.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR PULSE CORRECTLY ❤️

Here’s the simple step-by-step process:

1. Position your hand — turn your palm upward and relax your arm.

2. Find the pulse point — feel along the thumb side of your wrist.

3. Use two fingers — place your index and middle fingers gently over the pulse.

4. Count the beats — count each heartbeat for 30 seconds.

5. Calculate your heart rate — multiply the number of beats by 2 to get your BPM.

6. Record the result — note your heart rate so you can keep track of it.

Know your pulse. Know your heart. ❤️

When someone suddenly collapses, don’t waste precious time wondering what to do.
1️⃣ Check: Are they responsive? Tap their shoulder and speak loudly.
2️⃣ Look: Are they breathing normally? Gasping is not normal breathing.
3️⃣ Call: Activate emergency medical services and ask someone to bring an AED if available.
4️⃣ Act: If they are unresponsive and not breathing normally, begin CPR and use an AED as soon as possible.
