With strong ties to critical access hospitals in Cook and Bigfork, Scenic Rivers Health Services medical providers ensure 24/7 patient care. Its mission focuses on delivering high-quality medical, dental, and behavioral health services to rural communities, emphasizing a commitment to keeping local residents healthy. 🎉 Join us in welcoming our new Physician Assistant, Kaitlyn Guertin! 🎉

We’re excited to have Kaitlyn join the Scenic Rivers Health Services team! She recently graduated from The College of St. Scholastica this past December and is thrilled to begin her career in primary care.

Kaitlyn was born and raised in Grand Rapids and is looking forward to being back in the area, close to her family and friends. She especially enjoys spending time with her niece and nephew.

Outside of work, Kaitlyn loves being outdoors—whether she’s hunting, fishing, camping, playing volleyball, going for a run or four-wheeling. She also enjoys working on puzzles in her downtime.

Kaitlyn is passionate about providing care across the lifespan and is excited to serve children, adults, and seniors in our communities.

🦟 Found a tick? Act fast!
Spending time outdoors is one of the best parts of living in the Northland - but it also means being tick aware. The sooner you remove a tick, the lower your risk of getting sick.
Here’s how to do it safely ⬇️
✅ Use tweezers (or your fingers) to grab the tick as close to your skin as possible
✅ Pull straight out slowly and steadily—don’t twist or jerk
✅ Clean the area well with soap and water
✅ Watch for symptoms for about a month
🩺 If you develop symptoms like a rash or fever in the weeks after a bite, give us a call at (877)541-2817 to be seen by one of our providers.

Join us in welcoming Kathy Leppert, Nurse Practitioner!

Kathy is a dedicated Nurse Practitioner with a passion for providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. Originally from southern Minnesota, Kathy began her healthcare career as a registered nurse, where she spent eight years building a strong clinical foundation before becoming a Nurse Practitioner in 2000.
Kathy has a deep appreciation for family medicine and enjoys caring for patients of all ages - from children to adults - allowing her to build lasting relationships and support the health of entire families.
She recently made the move to northern Minnesota, drawn by the area’s beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife. When she’s not caring for patients, Kathy enjoys spending time outdoors - especially hiking, biking, camping, gardening, and canning. She loves sharing these adventures with her dog, Bo, as well as with family and friends.
Kathy is also actively involved in her community, volunteering her time with Bear River School and the Lions in Cook.

Appointments include:
🌷 Cervical cancer screening (ages 21+)
🌷 Breast cancer screening (ages 40+)
🌷 Women’s health kit with wellness resources

ALL insurances welcome!

Uninsured? We offer sliding scale fees and are partnering with the MN SAGE Program to provide free women’s health screenings for those who qualify.
