Hepatitis A is a highly contagious infection that spreads through contaminated food, water, or close contact.

Hepatitis A is one of the most common vaccine-preventable infections among travelers.

• International travel increases risk of exposure
• Food or drinks can become contaminated during preparation
• Poor hygiene can contribute to spread

The risk of Hepatitis A depends not only on location, but also on travel and food-related exposures.

✅ Get vaccinated before traveling
Ideally, start vaccination a few weeks before your trip
Protection begins about 2 weeks after receiving the vaccine.
✅ Choose food and water carefully
✅ Wash hands frequently

Getting ready for the World Cup? Don’t forget your health!

Mass gatherings like the FIFA World Cup can increase health risks—especially when people travel and mix in crowded settings.

Large international events bring people together from around the world, increasing the potential spread of infectious diseases.

Travel + crowds = higher exposure
Viruses and infections can spread more easily

✅ Stay up to date on vaccinations
✅ Practice good hygiene
✅ Be mindful of food and water safety

Before you travel: check destination health guidance and consider a pre-travel visit 4–6 weeks ahead.
