Lenette Blanco, APRN, works closely with nurses and staff across assisted living communities because caring for residents well requires more than showing up for an appointment.

Dr. Dillobar Gelfond and the AGC team had the pleasure of joining the Senior’s Got Talent event at The Faith Center, spending time with seniors, families, and members of the community.

Events like this matter because they give us the chance to do something simple but powerful:

Listen.
Listen to concerns.
Answer questions.
Understand what seniors are experiencing.

And help connect them with the care and support they may need.
We’re grateful to The Faith Center Seniors Ministry for welcoming us and for creating a space where seniors can come together, connect, and be celebrated.

Some patients become part of your story. ❤️
At 93, this wonderful patient is still bringing a smile to Dr. Galdames’ face and honestly, everyone.

She was one of his very first home-visit patients, originally from Mexico. Years later, their paths continue, this time during her stay at Encompass Rehab Hospital in Sunrise, FL.

This is what caring for older adults can look like: not simply treating a condition, but knowing the person, remembering their story, and being there as their needs change.
What a privilege it is to grow older alongside the patients who trusted you from the beginning. ❤️

Imagine being a physician and, years later, still having the privilege of caring for one of your very first patients. ❤️

She is 93 today.

Originally from Mexico, she was one of Dr. Mario Galdames’ first home-visit patients. Their healthcare journey began years ago, and today he had the opportunity to see her again during her stay at Encompass Health

There is something very special about growing older alongside the people who have trusted you with their health.

For us, geriatric medicine is not simply about adding years to life. It is about protecting dignity, independence, comfort, connection, and quality of life throughout those years.

And it takes a village: families, physicians, nurses, therapists, hospitals, rehabilitation teams, caregivers and many others working together around one patient.
To everyone caring for our older generation: thank you. Your work matters more than you may ever know.
