This is TRULY the moment we’ve been fighting for — to have our legislation introduced in both chambers. But it’s also the moment when we could lose it all if we don’t move fast.

Homeopathy During the Great Flu Pandemic of 1918-19

Without exception, homeopaths reported a lower percentage of pneumonia cases across all their populations, because prompt homeopathic treatment cut short the course of influenza and prevented it from progressing to later stages or complications.

As an example, among 28 homeopathic physicians from Central Iowa, 18 answered a detailed survey, in which 5,032 cases of influenza were reported, only 137 of which developed pneumonia. “We should be proud of the small percentage that developed pneumonia, less than 3 percent, against an estimated 30 percent of the Old School."

A historic milestone in South Africa saw homeopathic doctors officially collaborate with the National Department of Health for the first time during a national initiative on neglected tropical diseases.

Working alongside medical professionals and traditional healers, homeopaths provided basic health checks, blood pressure monitoring and community education, while also sharing information on homeopathy in local languages to ensure cultural accessibility.

The event focused on underserved conditions such as schistosomiasis, rabies and leprosy, and marked an important step towards more inclusive, community-based healthcare. Political recognition from health authorities further highlighted growing openness to integrative approaches within the public health system.

Homeopathy in History... the story of a very fine U.S. homeopathic hospital

The Flower Free Surgical Hospital, built by New York Medical College in 1889, was the first teaching hospital in the country to be owned by a medical college. It was constructed at York Avenue (formerly known as Eastern Boulevard) between 63rd and 64th streets with funds given largely by Congressman Roswell P. Flower, later governor of New York (1892-1894).

In 1908, to highlight owning its own hospital "Flower Free Surgical Hospital," the College changes its name a third time to "New York Homeopathic Medical College and Flower Hospital." A year later, the hospital adds motorized ambulances to supplement horse-drawn ambulances after the first U.S. mass-production of automobile-based ambulances begins production the same year.

A new national survey by the Eumetra Institute reveals that 98% of Italians are aware of homeopathy, and two out of three have used it—particularly women aged 35–55 with children. The most common reasons include treating colds, stress, and boosting immunity, with Tuscany leading in usage.

Trust in general practitioners and pharmacists significantly influences the choice to use homeopathy, with many patients motivated by both its natural origin and observed effectiveness, even in the absence of specialist consultations due to economic constraints.

An HRI and University of Bristol collaborative systematic review on homeopathy for tonsillitis has now been published in the European Journal of Integrative Medicine, finding associations with symptom relief, reduced infection frequency, and lower antibiotic use, with no safety concerns identified across the included studies. With antimicrobial resistance a growing global health challenge, evidence on alternatives to routine antibiotic prescribing is of increasing relevance. Well-powered studies with standardised outcome measures are now needed to build on these findings.
