The Healing Order

The Healing Order Chinese medicine and naturopathic medicine clinic located in the Historic Columbia Gorge Scenic Area, outside Portland, Oregon.

As part of our expanding mission, The Healing Order inaugurates a new era in our practice, allowing us to focus more intensely on our patients and offer a greater array of holistic therapies in the future. This is a chance for us to model a different kind of healthcare for other providers, and for a world that seems to keep wanting to only treat illness, rather than support health. We will continu

e to schedule consultations, dietary evaluations, acupuncture, and moxibustion and, of course, provide custom Chinese herbs and supplements at our Gordon Creek location until we can move into our new home next year.

"Tending the Fire Horse" starts June 9th.

This 10-week qigong series introduces the Jinjian Gong (筋建功), tendon-strengthening breathwork and movement practice, rooted in an unbroken lineage tradition. The tendons are part of a bodywide network - fascia, interstitium, and the entire sinew system. Daoist qigong has been working with this layer for centuries, long before Western medicine had a name for it.

"Jinjian Gong" is one of those practices within the Jinjing Gong lineage. Taught by Dr. Laurie Regan and hosted by ClassicalChineseMedicine.org (founded and stewarded by Dr. Heiner Fruehauf).

All are welcome.
We look forward to practicing with you!

🌾 May’s Organ of the Month: The Spleen.
Active from 9–11am, the Spleen transforms food into Qi and Blood—the foundation of daily energy, digestion, and grounded vitality. In Chinese Medicine, a strong Spleen supports nourishment not only physically, but mentally and emotionally as well.

Support this system with warm, cooked meals, steady routines, mindful eating, and moments of calm throughout the day. 🌿

We are excited to announce another 10-week Jinjing Gong series, hosted by ClassicalChineseMedicine.org and taught by Laurie Regan, PhD, ND.

The form we'll be immersed in is Jinjian Gong (筋建功, tendon-strengthening practices), the second form from the Jinjing Gong lineage. The series is suitable for qigong practitioners of all experience levels.

In Taoism, and in this particular form, the tendons are considered the superhighways of the body. A strong and open tendon body allows qi to move without obstruction, awakening elasticity, circulation and internal coherence throughout the entire system.

The Jinjian Gong form is especially nourishing this summer as the Yang Fire Horse year continues to blaze on. It is rooted, deliberate movements are excellent for building yin vitality. This practice supports the body in containing excess heat, helping us tend the transformative fires of the year while anchoring the spirit in steadiness and presence. We look forward to seeing you in this summer series!

Returning qigong participants can use the code “ROOTS” for $40 off registration.

Spring allergies are often seen in Chinese Medicine as a sign that the body is having difficulty adapting to the rapid changes of the season — wind, pollen, temperature shifts, and increased environmental stimulation.

While each person’s experience is different, there are many gentle ways to help support the body during this time of year. 🌿

Here are 6 natural approaches often used during allergy season
