Sometimes that little pause can change the whole conversation.
We’ve all had moments when something felt true.
“They’re mad at me.”
“I messed that up.”
“They’re ignoring me.”
“This is going to go badly.”
And once we’re upset, anxious, frustrated, or hurt, it’s pretty easy to react to what we think is happening instead of what we actually know.
Before responding, try asking yourself:
What am I feeling right now?
What do I actually know?
Your feelings still matter. The point isn’t to talk yourself out of them...it’s just to make sure they aren’t filling in parts of the story you don’t actually have yet. 💚
