Dial-A-Bus of Benton County Offering independence, stability, and community connections through transportation

From the humble beginnings of a small group of senior volunteers in the mid-1970s who made sure their friends could get to and from the Senior Center, Dial-A-Bus of Benton County has grown into an agency that serves the transportation needs of senior and disabled adults, children and families navigating poverty and other challenges, the homeless and home-insecure community members of Benton County

, and disabled and displaced school children. Among other services, we have the privilege of driving developmentally disabled adults to their jobs, ensuring our unhoused population can access medical care and food services, and making sure displaced children have the stability of remaining at their home school when they are temporarily living out of district. Occasionally, the community ask us to provide other services that are no less important. In the recent past, we drove a client on hospice care and his family to see the ocean one last time, drove a cancer patient and her husband to celebrate the end of their chemotherapy regimen, and we remain open on Christmas Day so seniors in assisted living facilities can spend the day with their families. We are extremely proud of our service to the community and you are invited to support our efforts by becoming a volunteer driver or through a simple donation that will go directly to maintaining the services described above. Call us at 541-752-2615 or stop in and see us on the first floor of the Sunset Building at 4077 Research Way. Donations can be made at https://www.dialabus.org/donate

The third week of June is Learning Disability Week!

Take a moment this week to learn how to support people with a learning disability, advocate for better resources, and celebrate diverse learning styles. Approximately 1 in 5 people in the US have a learning disability and they are all deserving of understanding, inclusivity, and support.

When you volunteer with Dial-A-Bus, you're not just impacting the people that you personally transport. You're freeing up other drivers' time to transport more of the clients that volunteers don't provide transportation to, such as schoolchildren.
Even if you only have a few hours to dedicate each month, you can still make a difference in people's lives with Dial-A-Bus.
