Class IV laser therapy (photobiomodulation) in action at TROSS.

High-powered infrared light drives measurable clinical outcomes for our patients:

• Systematic reviews of RCTs show Class IV laser significantly reduces pain and improves function in musculoskeletal conditions including neck pain, lumbar radiculopathy, osteoarthritis, and tendinopathies.

• Power output >500 mW enables deeper tissue pe*******on (>5 cm), effectively targeting tendons, ligaments, and deep musculature that lower-class devices often cannot adequately reach.

• Photons are absorbed by mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase, increasing ATP production, modulating inflammation, improving microcirculation, and accelerating tissue repair.

Evidence-based recovery, delivered.

Big Smiles & Big Seasons 🥎💙 Francis Howell Softball

We LOVE seeing this! 😂

We were excited to donate ball buckets to the FH Varsity Softball program, but we definitely didn’t expect them to turn the buckets into the stars of their own photo shoot! 😂🥎

Thank you, ladies, for having some fun with it and for letting us be a small part of your program. We’re proud to support local athletes and can’t wait to see what this team does this season!

Good luck, FH Varsity Softball! 💙
Go have an AWESOME season! 🥎🔥

Test: Counter Movement Jump

A quick, reliable way to measure lower-body power and readiness:

• Quantifies explosive force production critical for sprinting, cutting, and jumping sports
• Flags left-right asymmetries that raise injury risk
• Tracks neuromuscular fatigue and recovery so training can be adjusted in real time
• Provides objective data to guide return-to-play and sports performance progression

Simple test. Big insights for safer, stronger athletes.

Avulsion Fractures in Young Athletes

• A tendon or ligament pulls away at a growth plate (apophysis)
• Bones are still growing → growth plates are weaker than strong tendons
• Explosive moves (sprinting, kicking, jumping) overload the attachment
• Tight muscles + limited mobility increase tension and raise risk, especially during growth spurts
• Better pliability & flexibility training help reduce the pull on those vulnerable spots

Strengthen. Stay mobile. Protect those growing athletes.

We see it all the time: people stuck in back pain because they're following advice that sounds right but actually works against them.

Here are 4 myths we bust every single day:

1. Bed rest = healing. Research shows movement-the RIGHT movement-actually speeds recovery. Immobility stiffens joints and weakens stabilizer muscles. We design movement plans that respect your injury while rebuilding strength.

2. No pain, no gain applies to back recovery. Pain is information, not a badge of honor. We distinguish between healing discomfort and warning signals, so you know exactly what your body needs.

3. Your back pain means your spine is damaged. Most back pain isn't structural. It's often a movement pattern issue or muscle imbalance. That's actually good news-it's fixable with the right guidance.

4. One-size-fits-all exercises will work for you. Everyone's back is different. What helps your coworker might aggravate yours. We use functional movement testing and biomechanical assessment to find YOUR safe movements.

The real barrier to recovery isn't staying active-it's knowing WHICH movements matter for your body.

Here's what the science actually says about back pain recovery-and it might surprise you.

When your back hurts, the instinct is to shut down. Stop moving. Wait it out. But prolonged bed rest? That's often the opposite of what accelerates healing.

Instead, we've learned through evidence-based research that guided movement is what restores proper joint mechanics relaxing the nervous systems response of muscle guarding! Proper movement gets you back to doing what you love. The key is knowing *which* movements or directions are safe and *how* to progress them without re-aggravating the injury.

That's where we come in. We use functional movement testing and biomechanical assessments to create a personalized recovery plan that moves you-literally-from pain to performance.

If you've been stuck in the "rest and hope" cycle, or you're unsure what movements are actually safe for your back, let's talk. Drop a comment with your biggest back pain question or myth you've believed-we're here to set the record straight.

We see it all the time: athletes who felt completely fine in practice, then one movement changes everything. The truth? The breakdown more than likely happened long before the pain showed up.

Shoulder injuries typically aren't random-they're the result of mechanical imbalances building over time. Loss of mobility in one area. Stability gaps in another. Movement patterns that compensate. Tissue quality that can't handle load.

We've built our entire TPL approach around catching these breakdowns BEFORE they become injuries. Your four-pillar framework-mobility, stability/strength, movement patterns, and tissue quality-that's what separates athletes who stay healthy from those who spend seasons on the sidelines.

We want to hear from you: What shoulder issue have you dealt with?

🌟 A heartfelt thank you to every single sponsor who made the 2026 TROSS Invitational possible for The York Benjamin Foundation! 🌟

This event isn’t just a tournament — it’s a community coming together to support something that means the world to us. And none of it would happen without the incredible generosity of these local small businesses and families who stepped up, opened their hearts (and their checkbooks!), and said, “We believe in this cause.”

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to:

• Platinum Sponsor: PeakAxis Health

• Gold Sponsor: State Farm® Agents Tom Wootten & Hank Wiese

• Silver Sponsor: The Rupp Family

• Bronze Sponsor: Lentini Productions Photo + Film

• Lunch Sponsor: HOBOS at the American Legion

• Breakfast & Snack Sponsor: Upshot Coffee

These aren’t faceless corporations — they’re our neighbors, our friends, and real families who chose to invest in something bigger than themselves. We are so grateful they were willing to give so generously to help The York Benjamin Foundation.

And yes… we’re going to shamelessly ask 😊
If you’re one of our patients, friends, or part of this amazing community, we would love to see you support these businesses right back. Need health and wellness services? Insurance help? Beautiful family photos or film? A fantastic lunch or dinner? Or just the best coffee in town? Please consider walking through their doors, calling them up, or tagging them online. Every single visit, referral, or “I saw you on the sponsor board!” means the world to them — and it helps them keep showing up for causes like ours.
Your support closes the circle. It turns their generosity into something sustainable and keeps the spirit of this event alive long after the last putt drops.

Thank you again to every sponsor for believing in us. And thank you in advance to everyone who shows these wonderful local businesses some love — you’re the reason this community feels like home. 💚

We can’t wait to see you there!
