A Special Visit from Healing Waters Veterans
Each year, the Healing Waters organization brings a truly meaningful experience to our residents at Sweden Valley through their impressive 40-mile motorcycle es**rt parade across Potter County.
As the procession passed by, our residents proudly participated by waving flags, wearing patriotic headwear, and giving plenty of thumbs up. The energy was contagious—motorcycles roared, horns honked, music played, and riders waved back, creating a joyful and heartfelt moment for everyone involved.
This incredible group of veterans participates in the annual Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Event, where they either ride or drive throughout the county as part of the celebration and outreach.
Project Healing Waters is dedicated to supporting disabled veterans by offering fly fishing, fly casting, and fly tying classes and clinics. Now in its 17th year, this nationally recognized event is hosted by The God’s Country Chapter of Trout Unlimited in partnership with Big Moore’s Run Fish & Game Preserve.
Veterans often share that they are “overwhelmed” by the experience, enjoying not only the activities, but also the peaceful, healing environment that “God’s Country” provides.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to all of the volunteers and organizers who continue to make this event possible. Your dedication brings joy, healing, and well-deserved recognition to the men and women who have served our country.
