The Whole Ecosystem That Is Steve Scheid
This title felt fitting.
I've been thinking a lot lately about how we often evaluate people by a single thing, their talent, their output, their accomplishments...
But the longer I do this...the more I find myself looking at and observing the whole ecosystem.
The artist.
The father.
The teammate.
The leader.
The person people trust.
The way they show up when no one is watching.
And when I think about the whole ecosystem that is Steve, there's a lot to celebrate.
This year marks seven years of tattooing for Steve, and as we head toward December, nearly three years at Crimson City Tattoo. 🌀
If you've spent any time around Steve, you know his work speaks for itself.
His dedication to large-scale projects, thoughtful design, and client experience have made him one of the most respected and sought-after artists in Council Bluffs and throughout the surrounding metro area.
From full sleeves to ambitious multi-session projects, Steve has built a reputation for creating work that is both technically strong and deeply meaningful to those who wear it.
Over the last few years, I've watched him continue to grow not only as an artist, but as a father, teammate, and leader. He brings *consistency*, *accountability*, and *care* into everything he does.
He's someone clients trust and someone our team can rely on.
Behind the scenes, Steve has helped carry the weight of building something bigger than himself. He has been a steady presence through seasons of growth, challenge, change, and expansion. Clients see the tattoos, but we also get to see the countless moments of support, problem-solving, leadership, and commitment that help keep Crimson City moving forward.
Building a great room takes more than great artists. It takes people willing to invest in the culture, support the team, and help carry the responsibility that comes with growth.
Steve has consistently been one of those people, and I am deeply grateful for that.
As life evolves, so do priorities.
One of the things we value at Crimson City is building a life around what matters most.
With that in mind, Steve will be moving to a Tuesday through Friday schedule, intentionally reserving Saturdays for his children and family.
This isn't about doing less, it's about creating balance and protecting time for the moments that matter outside the studio.
The tattoo industry can celebrate full calendars, longer hours, and constant hustle. While dedication to the craft IS important, so is dedication to the people we love. Success isn't only measured by how much work we can fit into a schedule; it's also measured by how intentionally we choose to live our lives, and the art follows this care.
For clients, not much changes. Steve is already booking several months in advance and specializes in larger projects that require thoughtful planning and multiple sessions.
If you're interested in working with him, continue to plan ahead, as his calendar regularly fills months in advance.
As the founder and creative director of Crimson City, one of the most rewarding things to witness is artists growing into the people they want to become, not just the artists they want to be.
Watching Steve continue to evolve as an artist, father, leader, and teammate has been one of those rewards.
Steve, thank you for helping shape Crimson City. Thank you for your dedication to all of our clients, your commitment to growth, your incredible artistry, and for helping carry the vision, responsibility, and culture that make this place what it is today. ❤️🖤❤️
Congratulations on seven years of tattooing. We're proud to have you here, grateful for what you've helped build, and excited for everything still ahead.
