🩺 Is Surgery Always the Only Answer?

Not at all. Many orthopedic conditions can be treated without surgery.

Depending on the cause of your pain, treatment may include:
• Physical therapy
• Activity modification
• Anti-inflammatory medications
• Injections
• Bracing or supportive devices
• Strengthening and mobility exercises

Surgery is typically considered when conservative treatments haven’t provided enough relief or when the injury requires it.

The first step is finding out what’s causing the pain. Then, you can choose the treatment plan that makes the most sense for you.

🌙 Shoulder Pain Keeping You Awake?

If shoulder pain gets worse when you lie down, makes it difficult to find a comfortable position, or wakes you throughout the night, it may be more than just soreness.

Common causes of nighttime shoulder pain can include:
• Rotator cuff irritation or injury
• Bursitis
• Arthritis
• Tendon inflammation
• Frozen shoulder

You shouldn’t have to lose sleep because of shoulder pain. If it’s persistent or interfering with your rest, an orthopedic evaluation can help determine the cause and get you back to sleeping comfortably.

The right shoes can make a big difference. Look for good arch support, cushioning, a stable sole, a roomy toe box, and a proper fit to help reduce stress on your bones and joints.

And don’t forget...worn-out shoes lose their support, so replace them when needed! 🦴💪

☀️ Summer’s Most Common Activity Related Injury

With more time spent playing sports like pickleball, swimming, doing yardwork, and staying active outdoors, shoulder and knee injuries are some of the most common issues we see during the summer months.

If pain is lingering or slowing you down, don’t ignore it. Early treatment can help get you back to the activities you enjoy.

🌧️ MYTH OR FACT: Can rainy weather really make your joints ache?

✅ FACT.... sort of!

Rain itself isn’t necessarily the culprit, but changes in barometric pressure and temperature that often come with rainy weather may cause increased joint pain or stiffness for some people.

This can be especially noticeable if you have arthritis, an old injury, or an already-sensitive joint.

So if you’ve ever said, “I can feel the rain coming in my knees,” you may not be imagining it! ☔🦵
