When can a child stop using a booster seat?

Booster seats aren’t about age—they’re about fit.
Most children need a booster until they are around 4’9” tall and 10–12 years old.
Here is the catch:
Knowing when to stop using a booster seat isn’t just about height though it is still a valid point where we start checking if the seatbelt actually fits. The best way to know if your child is ready is the 5-Step Test. If they don’t pass all five steps, the booster stays.
