Summer Safety Tip #4
Pool Safety Starts with You 🏡💧
Backyard pools can be fun—but they can also be dangerous without the right precautions. The good news? Drowning is preventable. [usfa.fema.gov]
Keep your pool area safe:
✅ Install a 4-sided fence with a self-latching gate around your pool
✅ Never leave children unattended near water—even for a moment
✅ Remove toys from the pool area when not in use
✅ Designate a “water watcher” (no phones, no distractions!)
Drownings happen fast and often silently, so staying alert is critical. [usfa.fema.gov]
Make safety part of your summer fun! ☀️

Summer Safety Tip #3!
☀️🌩️ Summer Weather Can Create the “Perfect Storm”
Warm temps, severe storms, and changing weather patterns can quickly turn summer into an emergency situation. That’s why it’s important to be prepared before a disaster hits—not after.
✅ Make a plan with your family so everyone knows what to do
✅ Build an emergency kit with food, water, medications, and important items
✅ Stay informed and follow local alerts and guidance
Being prepared ahead of time helps you respond quickly and stay safe when conditions change. Emergency responders will be working hard—so having a plan in place makes all the difference.
Don’t wait for the storm—get ready today! 💙

📍 Dry Needling at FCP Health & Wellness Center
Dry needling is a technique used to help relieve pain and improve movement by targeting tight muscle areas and trigger points.
At the FCP Health & Wellness Center Rehabilitation Department, three licensed providers are specially trained to offer this treatment. After an evaluation, your provider can determine if dry needling is right for you.
ℹ️ Things to know:
• Not all insurance plans cover dry needling, non-FCP employees/tribal members should check with their insurance provider.

What is Dry Needling?
Dry needling is a skilled intervention used to treat pain and movement impairments. It targets trigger points in muscles to help relieve pain and improve range of motion. This technique can reduce muscle tension and restore more normal movement.
Dry needling is performed by licensed healthcare professionals who have received specialized training and certification. A thin, “dry” needle (with no medication) is inserted into specific areas of the muscle. This allows the provider to reach deeper trigger points and tissues that cannot always be treated by hand. Dry needling is not acupuncture—acupuncture focuses on energy flow, while dry needling is based on musculoskeletal science.
Dry needling is most effective when combined with other treatments like exercise, movement, and manual therapy.
