Thanksgiving morning in Dixie County means it’s time to TROT!

The 2026 Dixie County Turkey Trot is coming November 26, and we’re already getting excited to bring our community together again. Whether you run, walk, bring the family, or cheer everyone on, we hope you’ll make the Turkey Trot part of your Thanksgiving tradition this year.

Tag someone who needs to join you at the starting line!

A stronger community starts with people willing to get involved.

Cross City City Manager John Driggers joined volunteers downtown as Restore & Renew worked to bring new lighting and improvements to the area around the courthouse and City Hall. But the bigger story isn’t just the lights. It’s the people who showed up. Projects like these give us a reason to come together, take ownership of our community and play a part in making it better.

Want to be part of what Restore & Renew is doing? There’s a place for you to get involved.

Why does beautifying our community matter?

As John Locklear shares, the way our community looks can have a real impact on the pride we have in the place we call home. That’s why projects like lighting downtown, adding planters and improving our shared spaces are about more than appearances.

They’re about keeping Dixie County alive, welcoming and moving forward. Restore & Renew brings local residents, businesses, community leaders and volunteers together to make that happen, one project at a time. Because this community belongs to all of us.

What an incredible evening we shared last Friday during the Restore & Renew Project: Light Up Downtown. Because of you—our neighbors, families, volunteers, and friends—this project was a huge success.

Thank you to everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to show up, pitch in, and pour love into our community. Everything we accomplished is a reminder of what happens when people come together with purpose and heart.

We truly are making a difference… and we’re so much better together.
Doin’ it for the Love of Dixie!!! 💙

Restore & Renew is proud to sponsor a special Downtown Project next Friday, June 12th from 4–8 PM!

Our team and community volunteers will be hanging market‑style street lights and installing planters filled with beautifully colored flowers to brighten and refresh our downtown area.

This is more than a project — it’s a moment of fellowship, teamwork, and community pride. We’d love to see friends, families, and neighbors come together to help make Cross City shine.

Let’s keep building something beautiful, together.
