June 1-7 is National CPR and AED Awareness Week. Do your part by learning hands-only CPR, then download the PulsePoint app and turn on the “CPR-Needed” alerts. With your phone's location settings set to “always,” you will be notified of nearby AEDs and cases of sudden cardiac arrest where help may be needed until EMS can arrive on the scene.

Applications are officially open for the 2026–2027 WEMSA Foundation Scholarship!!

Each year, the Wisconsin EMS Association Foundation provides six $1,000 scholarships to eligible Wisconsin residents who are intending to or currently attending an EMS program through an approved Wisconsin training center.

Applicants will need to submit:
Resume or CV
Technical college enrollment information
Letter of recommendation
Explanation of need
Personal statement

Application deadline: July 1, 2026

Please note: Scholarships are intended for students working toward initial licensure or advancing to a higher certification level. Funding is not intended for refresher courses or license renewals.

As you probably know, ticks have been very active this year! To help prevent the diseases they spread, today our tick and mosquito surveillance team placed three tick check stations:
📌Indian Lake Dog Park (entrance)
📌Pheasant Branch Conservancy (Branch Street entrance)
📌Warner Park (trail near the Rainbow shelter)

At these stations, you’ll find:
✅Info about ticks that spread disease and what they look like
✅Tweezers to remove ticks
✅A jar to put removed ticks into
✅A QR code to our survey—this helps us know what ticks you saw and how you interacted with our station
