Safe Kids Northwest Indiana Welcome to Safe Kids Northwest Indiana! We help families and communities keep kids safe from preventable injuries. We serve 12 counties in Northwest Indiana.

We share education on safety, traffic injuries, drowning, falls, burns, poisonings, and more! We serve 8 counties in Northwest Indiana:

- La Porte County
- Starke County
- Pulaski County
- Benton County
- Newton County
- Jasper County

Think sparkers are the "safe" fireworks for children. Think again. Sparklers can get very hot and cause serious burns. Keep them away from pets and children.

Did you know that kids are at a higher risk for dehydration and heat illness compared to adults? It's easy for kids to forget to stop and drink water when they're having a great time playing outside on a hot and humid day. Be sure your kids drink water every 15-20 minutes during play!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who joined us today for our 2026 Pulaski & Stark County Safe Kids Day at the Pulaski County 4H Fair! ☀️🎉

Despite the heat trying its best to turn us all into melted popsicles, families came out to learn, play, and connect with local safety resources. 😅🌡️

We're so grateful for our incredible vendors who helped make the day a success!!! Because of you, families had the opportunity to learn important safety tips while making fun memories together 💙

Days like today remind us how amazing our communities are! Thanks for braving the heat with us - we had a blast! 🥳☀️🎡

It's time for a tea-riffic day at the Gary Community Baby Shower: Tea & Tiny Kicks 🫖☕️🩵

We're spilling the tea on child passenger safety today at the Gary Public Library from 11:30am - 2:30pm. Stop by our table to learn about car seat safety, proper seatbelt positioning during pregnancy, safe travel tips for newborns, and so much more!
