VAT vs. PEMF
Two Different Approaches to Wellness. One Goal: Helping You Feel Your Best.
At Halo Day Spa, we believe wellness should feel approachable, relaxing, and personalized — not overwhelming. While there are many wellness technologies available today, two therapies that are often compared are Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT) and PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy).
At Halo, we do not believe in handing clients a complicated menu full of confusing options.
Instead, we talk with you about your goals, concerns, stress levels, sleep struggles, or areas where you may need support. From there, we help determine which experience may be best for you.
Just book your session time — and we will handle the “rest” (pun intended!).
Although both are designed to support relaxation and overall wellness, they work in very different ways.
What Is Vibroacoustic Therapy (VAT)?
VAT, or Vibroacoustic Therapy, uses low-frequency hertz vibration delivered through a specialized lounger. Instead of electromagnetic pulses, VAT uses sound frequencies you can physically feel throughout the body, often paired with therapeutic music and headphones.
It is commonly described as sound you do not just hear — but feel.
The experience is deeply sensory and relaxing, combining vibration, sound, music, nervous system support, and guided relaxation into one session. Many people describe VAT as calming, grounding, and restorative.
At Halo Day Spa, VAT sessions are:
$40 per session
$70 for a Deep Dive session (almost an hour of VAT therapy)
What Is PEMF?
PEMF stands for Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy. PEMF uses electromagnetic pulses designed to stimulate the body at a cellular level and is often marketed for circulation, inflammation support, pain relief, recovery, sleep, and general wellness.
PEMF is sometimes described as a “battery charger” for cells. During a session, some people may feel tingling, warmth, relaxation — or sometimes nothing at all.
PEMF is often more focused on cellular recovery and stimulation, while VAT focuses more on the nervous system experience and deep relaxation.
The Biggest Difference
PEMF works through electromagnetic fields.
VAT works through sound vibration, the vagus nerve, and relaxation.
VAT is designed to help calm the nervous system through low-frequency vibration you physically feel in the body. PEMF works differently, using electromagnetic pulses rather than sound vibration.
Why Many People Are Drawn to VAT
VAT is not just “music on a vibrating chair.” A properly guided session combines sound, vibration, music, comfort, and nervous system support into a full-body wellness experience.
Why a Certified VAT Practitioner Matters
Halo Day Spa is proud to have the only Certified Vibroacoustic Therapy Practitioner in the area.
That matters because VAT is meant to be intentional and guided. A trained practitioner understands:
Frequency ranges
Session length
Client comfort
Contraindications
Nervous system response
How to create a session with purpose
At Halo Day Spa, your session is not random. Each experience is designed to support relaxation, stress reduction, sleep support, nervous system calming, and overall wellness.
Certification also provides confidence and professionalism for clients who may be experiencing Vibroacoustic Therapy for the first time.
With a Certified Vibroacoustic Therapy Practitioner, VAT becomes more than simply relaxing. It becomes a guided wellness experience designed to help calm the body, settle the nervous system, and support a deeper state of rest.
Some people report benefits that may last hours, days, or even weeks, though every individual experience will vary.
The body knows how to heal. We help it remember.
