Fun Fact Friday!

This year marks the 30th year that CROSM has been in business!!!

In 1995, Dave Dueland MD started Cullman Regional Orthopedics and Sports Medicine P.C. just across the street from their location now! Shortly after, in 1997, Dr. Dueland recruited Ben Gomez MD to be his partner in this private practice! In 2005, they moved into their new location on Hwy 157 Cullman Regional campus.

Both Dr. Dueland and Dr. Gomez have been loyal caregivers to the city of Cullman and the surrounding counties for over a quarter century. They’ve sacrificed clinical hours for sports physicals to the city and county high schools, provided multiple sports sideline coverage, and furthered their surgical technique since the opening of their business. Dueland and Gomez have taken care of over 101,700 patients to date!

Patrick is a master griller and loves spending his free time smoking BBQ and cooking incredible seafood for his family!

Patrick has been with Cullman Orthopedics & Sports Medicine for over 3 years and brings 20 years of healthcare experience to our team, including 9 years as an RN in the ICU and ER and 11 years as a CRNP specializing in Orthopedics and Spine. He’s also a proud father of four girls, a dedicated family man, and always up for a little Mario Kart competition—even if his daughters occasionally beat him!

Fun Fact Friday!

Thomas Mullican PA-C has worked as a provider at CROSM for the last 20 years, and also has many talents!

Tommy first started his career as an X-Ray Technician and later practiced as an Ultrasound Technologist. After working for a total of 8 years, Tommy went back to school to become a Physicians Assistant, graduated in 2006, and has been working with Dr. Dueland (CROSM) ever since!

Tommy not only is dedicated to his profession, but also is the lead singer and guitarist for his garage band, “DogBite!” He enjoys golf as a hobby and is a recent grandfather to two beautiful grandchildren!

Fun Fact Friday!

The Interlocking Nail System is a veterinary orthopedic implant system developed in the late 1980s and early 1990s by R. Tass Dueland, DVM and colleagues at the University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. It was designed primarily to stabilize long-bone fractures in dogs and other animals. The system adapts the concept of human intramedullary interlocking nails for veterinary use, instead of relying only on bone plates or simple intramedullary pins.

Dr. R. Tass Dueland is our very own Dr. Dueland’s father, and was the 2nd Veterinarian Orthopedic Surgeon in the country!
