We talk a LOT about what we should do for our health.
Sleep more. Eat well. Exercise. Manage stress. Take care of your brain.
All important.
But somewhere along the way, we started treating joy, play and connection like extras — things we get to have after everything else is done.
Your brain doesn’t see them that way.
Laughter can help lower stress hormones.
Singing engages breathing, emotion and nervous-system pathways.
Dancing combines movement, rhythm, coordination and learning.
A hug or safe human connection can help signal safety to the nervous system.
And sometimes simply doing something that makes you genuinely HAPPY gives your brain a break from constantly solving, producing and performing.
So here’s today’s brain hack:
Do one thing today for no other reason than because it brings you joy.
Dance in the kitchen.
Call the person who makes you laugh.
Sing ridiculously loudly in the car.
Hug someone you love.
Play with your kids.
Your brain health isn’t only built by the things you should do.
It’s also built by the life you actually enjoy living. 🧠❤️
