🏀 I came for an autograph—but I left with a powerful reminder about showing up, staying focused, and believing in yourself. Pouring yourself into your passion is worth it!

That moment also reminded me that mental strength is built over time. Just as athletes rely on practice, guidance, and support to grow, we can strengthen our emotional well-being with encouragement, consistency, appropriate treatment, and compassionate care.

Mental health care is not one-size-fits-all, and medication alone is not always the complete answer. For many people, the most effective support may include psychiatric medication management, therapy, or a combination of both. Therapy can offer a safe space to process emotions, develop coping skills, work through challenges, and build lasting strategies for emotional well-being.

At Mental Health Calmness | SALEGO, we provide individualized care for children, adolescents, and adults based on each person’s needs and goals.

💙 Mental Health Calmness Educational Post 💙

Postpartum Depression vs. “Baby Blues” — What’s the Difference?

Becoming a mother is life-changing, but it can also bring emotional ups and downs. Understanding the difference between baby blues and postpartum depression (PPD) is important for getting the right support.

🌸 Baby Blues (Very Common)

* Starts within a few days after delivery
* Mood swings, tearfulness, irritability, anxiety
* Feeling overwhelmed or emotional
* Usually improves within 2 weeks without treatment

💔 Postpartum Depression (PPD)

* Can start anytime within the first year after birth
* Persistent sadness, hopelessness, or emptiness
* Loss of interest in baby or daily life
* Difficulty bonding with baby
* Changes in sleep, appetite, or energy
* May include thoughts of self-harm or feeling like a “bad mother”
* Does NOT go away on its own and needs support and treatment

💡 The most important difference:
Baby blues are temporary. Postpartum depression is deeper, longer-lasting, and treatable with professional care

At Mental Health Calmness, we support women

* Postpartum depression & anxiety treatment
* Medication management (when appropriate)
* Telehealth psychiatric care
* Holistic, compassionate mental health support
* Women’s mental health services across all life stages

📍 Licensed in MD, PA, DE NY FL
💻 Telehealth appointments available
✅ Insurance accepted (most plans)

🚨 If you are in crisis or need immediate help:

🇺🇸 United States:

* Call or text 988 (Su***de & Crisis Lifeline)
* Emergency: 911

🌍 International resources:

* Visit: https://www.opencounseling.com/suicide-hotlines (global directory of crisis numbers by country)

👶 If you are unable to care for your child safely:

* In the U.S., you can use Safe Haven Laws (drop-off locations vary by state, often hospitals or fire stations)
* This is a legal, anonymous option designed to protect both parent and baby in crisis situations
You are not a bad mother for struggling. You are a human who deserves support, care, and healing.

✨ Your child isn’t giving you a hard time—they may be having a hard time.

Worry jars, calming routines, reassurance, therapy, and other coping strategies can help. But when anxiety, fear, or difficulty self-regulating continues to interfere with school, relationships, or daily life, it may be time for a psychiatric evaluation.

Medication may be one part of an individualized treatment plan. Parents can also ask their child’s school about an evaluation for a 504 Plan and appropriate anxiety-related accommodations.

Good morning.

Your daily mental health reminder:

You don’t have to attend every argument you’re invited to.

Protect your peace.
Set the boundary.
Drink the coffee.
Take your meds if prescribed.

Some people call it an attitude.
We call it healthy boundaries. 💗

Smile and say,
“That’s the goal.” 💅🧠
