“I have always been self motivated and never thought I would want (or need) a trainer to guide my workouts. But in early 2025, I was recovering from shoulder surgery and couldn’t work out like I was used to. My body was changing in a way I wasn’t happy with, and I knew it was time for something different.
As soon as I made the decision to get a trainer, I signed up with VO2. Having participated in VO2’s 9/11 stair climb, I was able to see firsthand the passion, encouragement, and support that define the VO2 community. I knew that was the kind of environment I wanted to be in. It was the best decision I could have made.
Having a small, dedicated team of trainers means that the person guiding each workout knows me - my strengths, my weaknesses, and my prior injuries. They are able to tailor each session to fit my individual needs: I know that on days my shoulder is sore, they will modify exercises, and on days where I am feeling good, they will push me.
Troy, Sara, and Xander strike the perfect balance between support and tough love. They can make even the most challenging classes fun! I cannot imagine any other trainers being able to make me laugh through an intense class at 7pm after a full day at work.
I am grateful every day for the community that Troy and Sara have built. I’ve grown in ways I didn’t think possible, and reached goals I never expected. I can honestly say that my training sessions are the highlight of my day, and I cannot wait to continue getting stronger with VO2!”
