Sunday, I went for this amazing hand sewn journal making class at and .
The intent was to connect with your creativity inside, let go and get into a creative flow. This is something I deeply crave. Getting out of my own way and just seeing the joy in doing and creating. I tend to get in my head a lot and just think about outcome. I can take just about everything too seriously. But I went with an open heart, hoping for something to spark.

I felt a little stuck at first. My mind immediately came in and said I knew this was going to be too hard, ugh I guess I just don’t have a flow. But then I let go a little, got inspired from the other women around me and just went with what I was draw towards and suddenly got lost in the creative act.

It felt like and escape for me. I came home and showed my girls. Their reactions were priceless. They were in awe of my little creation. Lily immediately wanted to make her own.

So after school one day this week we gathered some scraps of wrapping paper and a composition notebook that was lying around and began to create one for her.

This workshop gave me a glimpse of a deeper connection with myself and Lily. Both things I have been craving. I’m so glad I loosened my grip on my expectations and doubts and gave this creative process a chance. As Vikki says, it’s all just a practice. I have my little journal to practice with now

Stillness~
Taking time to reflect and ask myself, the Universe, God questions is something a friend taught me. She says that you have all your answers and it’s only in stillness that you can hear them.
So sit and try to get a least a little bit of stillness everyday. Sometimes my answers come flowing out of me. Most times though my mind is turning and I sit frustrated saying to myself, I can’t ever do this.. why can’t you just give me an answer now, God? But I keep going and keep practicing…Because I am always in awestruck wonder when I get my little answers. And I just had to slow down, get still and connect with that deeper place within and most of all trust. 🌿✨

❄️Over the weekend I went to breathing workshop with a cold plunge . I didn’t know that much about this, I had seen Wim in a few couple TV shows and at the last minute I booked it just wanting to give it a shot🤞

❄️I’ve been working on getting still. It’s something that a friend encourages me to do. She teaches there’s a promise we are given….that after Stillness, there is a Knowing. I thought this may be a good way to connect deeper with that practice.

❄️At the workshop we did a practice run just seeing how long we could hold our breath. I made it 30 seconds. I did not like the sensation of holding my breath. I felt like I was dying. Then we did the Wim Hof breathing method and tried it again. I doubled my time and I did not feel like I was going to die I actually enjoyed holding my breath and feeling the mind-body connection. I had never felt that so deeply and I feel like I just scratched the surface.

❄️The workshop wrapped up with a cold plunge. I was nervous about that too, and had the other guy go first because he was pro level. After I got over the initial shock and calmed my breath, I found it invigorating and now I want to challenge myself to just get slightly uncomfortable in my every day life as a practice.
The instructor talked about putting ourselves in slightly uncomfortable situations like cold exposure to practice responding better to uncomfortable situations in real life. It’s like putting a wedge between my reaction, a pause or space so we don’t react and say something we don’t mean. Something I get a lot of practice with having children.
❄️ I definitely enjoyed this and feel like it can deepen my experience with a lot of things. Has anybody else tried a cold plunge?

Traditional acne products typically focus on exfoliation. This can lead to irritation, especially for an active young adult or teen who is sweating. Not to mention when we strip the skin of it natural barrier, it can be more prone to sun damage even if you wear sunscreen. While the acne may clear up..now we have painful, irritated skin 😣
