40 grams of protein. Only 2.9 grams of sugar. And this box contains TWO servings!
I’ve been really impressed by the quality of the food in Switzerland—and honestly, much of Europe.
Back home, it often feels like a challenge to find a protein drink with even 20 grams of protein. And when we do, it often comes with a lot more sugar and extra ingredients than I would prefer.
It makes me wonder: Why is it so much easier to find simple, high-protein, lower-sugar options here?
The U.S. is making some efforts through better food labeling, growing consumer demand for healthier products, and increased nutrition awareness, but it feels like we still have room for improvement.
What more could we do?
• Make healthier foods more affordable and accessible�• Reduce added sugars in processed foods�• Improve nutrition education�• Encourage companies to focus on food quality, not just marketing�• Increase transparency about ingredients and sourcing
Traveling has reminded me that healthy food doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes it’s simply real food, better ingredients, and fewer unnecessary additives.

Best Self • Thrive From the Inside Out

Watching these baby hummingbirds reminded me of something powerful…

Growth doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens by design.

Mama didn’t just build any nest. She chose the right materials, the right location, and created a space safe enough to nurture something fragile into something strong.

Our habits are no different.

If you want your baby habits to grow, you have to build the right nest:

* the environment you place yourself in
* the support system you lean on
* the boundaries that protect your energy

You don’t rush it… you nurture it.

There were moments we thought our timeline, our painting project, would be delayed. And it was. But nature had its own perfect timing. The babies weren’t ready… until they were.

And when they were ready, they flew.

A reminder:
Just because your goals feel delayed doesn’t mean they’re off track. Something is still growing. Something is still strengthening.

Stay mindful. Stay hopeful.
Protect what you’re building.

And don’t miss the joy of the process… because that’s where the real transformation happens.

Today’s mindfulness practice:
Pause. Pick a petal. Breathe. Taste.

The bright, peppery bite of a Nasturtium wakes up your senses—

Happy Earth Day 🌿

Today is a gentle reminder that healing doesn’t only happen in an office…
it happens under your feet, in the fresh air, and in the quiet moments with nature.

When you walk outside, your nervous system begins to settle.
Your breath deepens.
Your thoughts soften.
Your body remembers how to regulate.

I often say in my walking therapy sessions…
we’re not just moving forward physically,
we’re helping the brain and body remodel in real time.

Nature gives us something powerful:
• a place to process
• a place to reset
• a place to come back to ourselves

You don’t need to go far.
A short walk. A pause by a tree. A few mindful breaths outside.
It all counts.

Today, I invite you to step outside and reconnect—
not just with the Earth, but with your Best Self.

Because when we care for the Earth,
we’re also caring for our mind, body, and nervous system.

Did you know that your sub corital brain and limbic center responds and interrupts internal and external information in 50 milliseconds.
The rational thinking brain (our neocortex and frontal lobes) responds to internal and external cues in 500-600 milliseconds after the information has already been assessed according to your past learnings and traumas.
Your rational brain will always be late to the party and it will only get a fraction of the facts.

This is why it's popular to do therapy and work on reducing your limbic center and mid brains reactivity so you can be your best self.

Remember, internal stress (from your thoughts and beliefs) drives inflammation and DNA methylation more than food, environmental factors, and lifestyle. It's important to work on yourself inside and out.
