Happy National Speech-Language Pathologist Day to the incredible SLPs who help children find their voices, build confidence, strengthen communication, and connect with the world around them every single day. 💙 From newborns to teenagers, their impact goes far beyond the therapy room, and we are incredibly grateful for the difference they are making.

Everett had a blast with Ms. Kayley yesterday working on following directions, core strength, motor planning, balance, coordination, and sensory regulation through a fun scooter board obstacle course! Activities like these help support body awareness, attention, postural control, and overall functional play skills. 💙

Could your child benefit from occupational therapy? Here are some signs they may:

1. Fine Motor & Hand Skills
• Difficulty holding crayons, pencils, or utensils
• Trouble with buttons, zippers, or dressing
• Avoids coloring, puzzles, or crafts
• Messy or hard-to-read handwriting

2. Sensory Processing Differences
• Overreacts to smells, sounds, textures, lights, or touch
• Avoids messy play (paint, sand, food)
• Seeks constant movement (jumping, crashing, spinning)
• Difficulty with transitions or changes in routine

3. Self-Care & Daily Living Skills
• Difficulty feeding themselves or using utensils
• Trouble brushing teeth, bathing, or grooming
• Not meeting age-appropriate independence skills
• Gets easily frustrated during daily routines

4. Attention, Regulation & Behavior
• Difficulty sitting still or focusing on tasks
• Frequent meltdowns or big reactions
• Trouble calming down or regulating emotions
• Impulsivity or difficulty following directions

5. Play & Coordination Skills
• Clumsy, frequently falling, or poor balance
• Trouble catching or throwing a ball
• Delayed or limited play skills
• Avoids playground equipment

If these challenges are impacting your child’s ability to play, learn, or be independent, an OT evaluation can help identify supports and build skills in a fun, play-based way. We have immediate openings!

We’d love to support your child’s development.
