Your summer protein shake just got an herbal upgrade.

Instead of only using plain water or milk, I mix in a marshmallow root infusion.

Simply soak 1–2 tablespoons of marshmallow root in 8–16 oz of cool water overnight, strain, and use the infusion as the liquid in your protein shake.

Marshmallow root is a cooling, mucilaginous herb that’s traditionally used to support hydration, soothe the digestive tract, and help nourish dry tissues—making it one of my favorite summer rituals.

Save this to try later, and let me know if you’ve ever made a marshmallow root infusion!

I paired mine with my favorite Equip protein. If you’d like to try it, you can use my affiliate code to save on your order (code: NBK).

These little moments remind me that emotional regulation isn’t something we teach with lectures. It’s something we model through patience, connection, and trust.

Sometimes the biggest parenting wins start with something as small as a broken banana.

Have you ever witnessed a full-blown meltdown over something that seemed tiny to us but huge to them? Tell me your story below—I promise you’re not alone.
