🌟 Did you catch WFAA Daybreak yesterday? 🌟

September 3 featured North Texas Giving Day nonprofits, and DAPS was proud to be part of the celebration! 💙

A HUGE thank you to DAPS Board Member John Davis, who braved the very early morning hours — arriving at 3:30 a.m.! — to join the WFAA Daybreak crew for this special segment. We are so grateful for John’s dedication and commitment to DAPS and our Parkinson’s community! 🙌

And the giving continues! 🎉

Your support helps DAPS continue providing programs, resources, and services to people living with Parkinson’s and their families throughout North Texas.

💙 A NEW DIAGNOSIS. A LOT OF QUESTIONS. 💙

What does Parkinson’s mean for my future? What should I know? Where do I turn for help?

A new Parkinson’s diagnosis can feel overwhelming—and no one should have to figure it all out alone.

That’s why DAPS created PD 101, a workshop designed specifically for people newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s and their care partners. Participants gain practical tools, strategies, resources, and communication skills to better understand Parkinson’s and continue living well.

Our first PD 101 workshop in Arlington filled within days, and the growing waitlist has already prompted us to plan another workshop this fall.

That tells us something important: the need is there.

Your donation helps DAPS say “yes” when our community asks for more—more education, more support, more connection, and more opportunities to live well with Parkinson’s.

Help DAPS reach our $40,000 goal.

💬 YOU SPOKE. WE LISTENED. 💬

Some of the most meaningful changes at DAPS begin with a simple question: “What do you need?”

When DAPS members told us Richardson needed support groups we listened—and we acted.

We launched two new professionally facilitated support groups: one for people living with Parkinson’s and one for care partners. The groups meet simultaneously but in adjacent rooms - allowing people with PD and their loved ones to find support, connection, and understanding—at no charge.

Today, DAPS offers 15 support groups every month across Dallas, Duncanville, Garland, McKinney, Richardson, and online.

Parkinson’s can be isolating, but no one should have to face it alone.

Your donation helps create places where people can connect, be heard, share what they’re going through, and find hope.

This North Texas Giving Day, help us keep listening—and keep responding when our community says, “We need more.”

Give today. Help someone find their people.
