What an incredible experience!

This past May, our DAPS Executive Director, Leisha Phipps, and Program Director, Keisha Hill, had the honor of attending the 7th World Parkinson Congress in Phoenix, Arizona. With more than 4,000 participants from around the world gathered in one place, the energy, knowledge, and sense of community were extraordinary!

We had the opportunity to connect with amazing individuals, learn from leading experts, and share the values that guide DAPS every day: Community, Connection, and Compassion.

Representing the DAPS community at this global event was a privilege. We returned home inspired, energized, and more committed than ever to supporting and serving our members.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS!
Vermont just became the first state in the nation to pass legislation banning paraquat, a toxic pesticide linked to increased Parkinson’s disease risk. The bipartisan bill now heads to Gov. Phil Scott’s desk.

More than 70 countries have already banned paraquat. Advocates are urging other states and the federal government to follow Vermont’s lead.

This is a major win for public health, Parkinson’s advocates, farmers, and rural communities nationwide.
