It was always the two of us. 🤎
I got Moca just a few weeks after my dad passed away, during one of the darkest and most confusing times of my life. I was only 18, trying to figure out how to keep living after losing such a huge part of myself, and then came this tiny little dog with the BIGGEST personality. 😂
Moca was sassy, stubborn, nosey, dramatic, independent, and very particular about what she did and did not have time for. 😭 She loved who she loved, did what she wanted, and somehow always knew when I needed her close.
For 15 years, she was the one constant through every version of me. Every apartment. Every heartbreak. Every career change. Every loss. Every win. Every time I had to pick myself up and start over. She watched me grow from a grieving 18-year-old girl into the woman I am today.
And now, as I’m preparing to spread my wings again and step into an entirely new chapter, it feels like she stayed just long enough to make sure I would be okay. I thought I was taking care of her all these years, but really, she was taking care of me.
My first baby. My soul dog. My little shadow. My golden girl. My home. It was always me and Moca. And somehow, it always will be. 💕🐾
I’m so happy to have had 15 long years with you. Job well done, Moca. A life so well lived.
Thank you for saving mine.
