Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. Today we remember those we have lost to overdose, and other causes related to Substance Use Disorder. At Healthy Lincoln County we wanted to take a moment to express our love and support for our local families who have lost someone to overdose. We remember you loved one, and they are still loved.

And we stand with everyone who is still here to remember them. Let's work together to make overdose a thing of the past.

Later this afternoon and evening we will gather at Coastal Rivers Conservation Trust with our friends at TEAM SHARING (Parents who’ve lost a child to Substance Use Disorder), Lincoln County Recovery Community Center, Know Your OPTIONS, and MaineGeneral Health.

At 2 PM we will offer a one-hour Overdose Response Training in the classroom at Coastal Rivers.

At 4 PM we will open the resource fair on the front lawn. Community members are invited to drop in any time from 4 - 7:30 to learn about local resources, opportunities to get involved, and ways to support loved ones. Free useful items will be available from the Community Routes program and our partners. Naloxone demonstrations will take place as needed. An Open Mic will be available from 5 onward for anyone who wants to share or speak out.

At 7:30 we will light candles for those we love and remember.

We hope you can join us.

Thank you, Tide Co-op !
Not only is Rising Tide Lulu's Summer Meals sponsor this year, but they also support Healthy Lincoln County in countless ways behind the scenes. They consistently provide food for our programs, dedicate staff time and energy, offer space for tabling and food drives, and provide financial support that strengthens our work across the county.
Through the Loving Locals Round-Up Program, Rising Tide helps provide eggs for our share tables and local vegetables used in Summer Meals. The crew at Rising Tide is always willing to lend a hand when we need extra help, and we're so grateful to have them as a community partner! πŸ’œπŸ’œπŸ’œ
